A freestanding glasshouse structure, with eight compartments and a corridor, was delivered and installed for plant research at Newcastle University.
The structure was equipped with heating, irrigation, electrical & control.

Greenhouse Structure: Freestanding glasshouse, 8x compartments and a central corridor. Although roof screens are not fitted, the glasshouse structure is designed to accept screens in the future.
Ventilation System: Railmech ventilation system to 8 compartment & a corridor, ventilators were also fitted with insect netting.
Irrigation: External 5,000 litre rainwater storage tank feeding hand watering points located in each compartment.
Heating: Heating consists of finned tube heat emitters located around the perimeter of each compartment. 2 no. oil fired boilers are located in the corridor to serve the system with a 2,500-litre oil tank located externally to the glasshouse.
Electrics & Controls: The electrical installation consisted of a mains distribution panel c/w control panel for each of the 8no. compartments. Access & emergency lighting is installed to the corridor and sockets to the corridor.
Sockets are installed ready for the installation of future LED grow lights.
A Bridge HMS centralised control system is installed to control heating, ventilation along with future screens & grow lights.
