A Venlo glasshouse, divided into 3 growing areas & a Work Area, was delivered and installed for bedding plant producer, Happy Plants. This advanced greenhouse provides an environmentally controlled space where Happy Plants now cultivate thriving stock for their retail clients.

As well as manual sliding doors to the glasshouse, the Work Area was equipped with electric overhead sectional doors and dock levellers to allow Happy Plants to store, load and unload stock with ease.

Greenhouse Structure:

Freestanding Venlo glasshouse structure with a 12.8m triple span & 5m post height. The Work Area has 10m under gutter trellis to reduce the number of posts in this area.

The Work Area has insulated composite panels to the sides & gables whilst the growing areas have composite insulated panels to a height of 1.8m to the sides & gables with glass above.

The roof of the Growing Area’s is clear toughened glass, whilst the roof of the work area is white coated toughened glass.

Ventilation: Work Area & Growing Area have 3 pane vents to both sides of the ridge, 1.4m deep. Ventilation is split into 3 growing zones & Work Area with Ridder motors & rack & pinions.

Roof Screens: Single Horizontal pull wire system to 3 zones. Svensson Harmony 5220 open flame-retardant cloth & Ridder motors.

Doors/ Loading docks: Electrically operated overhead sectional doors & loading docks to Work Area.

Heating: Munter suspended oil fire heaters coupled with oil storage tanks to provide frost protection.
