University of Reading Insect Tunnel – Multi-Pod Polytunnel Greenhouse

A polytunnel greenhouse, with 24 separated mesh pods for housing insects, including irrigation points and electrical outlets was delivered and installed for the University of Reading. Bridge Greenhouses created a functional and environmentally controlled polytunnel structure that is perfect for aspiring academics who are researching insect behaviour and biology.

Greenhouse Structure: polytunnel structure with 24 separated pods, polythene roof, full height side curtains with netting, double sliding door with standard polycarbonate cladding

Pods: 3m x 2m pods installed with single hinged polycarbonate clad doors, insect netting, metal plates installed into the mesh to allow for the electrics and water pipes

Groundworks: strip and site level, concrete slab for foot traffic, Aco drains
